Feeling Stuck?
Hypnotherapy is a deeper approach to healing patterns, beliefs, identity and emotional responses that may not shift through conscious effort alone.
-
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, focused approach that helps you work with the deeper patterns, beliefs, identity and emotional responses held beneath everyday conscious awareness.
During hypnosis, the mind enters a relaxed and highly focused state, similar to becoming deeply absorbed in a book, meditation, or daydream. In this state, attention becomes more inwardly focused, which can make it easier to explore automatic thought patterns and become more receptive to new perspectives and intentional therapeutic suggestions.
You are never unconscious or out of control. You remain aware throughout the experience and are always able to choose what feels right for you.
By combining relaxation, imagery, and therapeutic suggestion, hypnotherapy can support the process of creating new associations and responses while helping you reconnect with your own inner resources for healing and change.

As a licensed therapist, I bring a trauma-informed lens to all of my hypnotherapy services, including sessions offered outside of psychotherapy. This means that safety, choice, pacing, nervous system awareness, and respect for your individual experiences remain central to the way I work. However, receiving hypnotherapy from a licensed therapist does not automatically establish a psychotherapy relationship.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is provided within an established psychotherapy relationship and is used as part of your mental health treatment. It may support treatment goals related to trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, maladaptive coping patterns, pain relief, addiction support or other psychological concerns. Clinical hypnotherapy includes appropriate assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and the responsibilities associated with an ongoing therapist-client relationship.
Integrative (Non-Clinical) Hypnotherapy is a standalone wellness and personal-growth service. Sessions may focus on goals such as identity shifts, confidence, relaxation, performance, habit change, or strengthening supportive beliefs. While these sessions are facilitated by me as a licensed therapist and informed by my clinical training, I am not acting as your psychotherapist and a therapist-client relationship is not established through participation in these services. Integrative hypnotherapy does not include diagnosis, psychotherapy, treatment planning, or treatment of a mental health disorder.
If your goals involve significant trauma symptoms, mental health concerns, or material that would be more appropriately addressed through psychotherapy, you may be advised to pursue clinical treatment instead.

Hypnotherapy may be helpful for people who feel like they understand their patterns intellectually but still struggle to change them on a deeper level.
It can be especially beneficial for those working through anxiety, stress, low self-worth, unwanted habits, emotional blocks, fears and phobias, limiting beliefs, or patterns that seem to repeat despite conscious effort.
It may also be a good fit for people who are open to mindfulness, visualization, mind-body approaches, and exploring the subconscious as part of their healing process.

Before your first hypnotherapy session, you’ll complete a brief questionnaire to describe what you would like to work on. This helps me better understand your goals, concerns, and what you hope to gain from hypnotherapy so that your session can be personalized to you.
If you are new to Arkehra, you will also have a free 15-30 minute consultation before booking. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you would like support with, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether hypnotherapy feels like a good fit.
During your session, we’ll spend some time talking about your goals before I guide you into a relaxed, focused state using techniques such as breathing, imagery, and progressive relaxation. From there, we may use therapeutic suggestions, visualization, imagery, or other techniques tailored specifically to what you are working on.
You remain aware and in control throughout the entire experience. You can speak, move, or stop at any time.
At the end of the session, you’ll be gently guided back to your usual level of alertness, and we’ll take a few moments to process your experience and discuss any insights or next steps.

My approach to clinical hypnotherapy is trauma-informed, personalized, and designed with nervous system safety in mind. Sessions are tailored to what you are coming in to work on rather than following a one-size-fits-all script.
During the hypnosis portion of your session, soft trance music and binaural beats may be incorporated to support relaxation, focused attention, and a deeper meditative experience. Because binaural beats are designed to be heard separately in each ear, headphones are recommended for the best experience.
Hypnotic work may also include guided imagery, therapeutic suggestion, visualization, and other techniques selected specifically for your goals. Throughout the process, choice, pacing, collaboration, and emotional safety remain central.
Clients may also have the option to purchase a personalized recording of the hypnosis portion of their session for continued use at home. This allows you to return to the experience and reinforce the therapeutic suggestions between sessions. Recordings are optional and require consent.

How long are hypnotherapy sessions?
Hypnotherapy sessions are approximately 60 minutes. This gives us enough time prepare for the hypnosis process, complete the hypnotherapy portion of the session, and allow time afterward to process your experience.
Are sessions offered virtually or in person?
At this time, hypnotherapy sessions are offered virtually only.
How should I prepare for a virtual session?
Please choose a calm, private, and secure space where you will not be interrupted during your session. You should be able to comfortably lie down and position your camera so that I can see you throughout the hypnotherapy portion of the session.
Whenever possible, silence notifications, let others in your home know that you should not be disturbed, and create a space where you feel comfortable relaxing.
Does insurance cover hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy sessions are not billed to insurance and are offered as a private-pay service.
Will I become a psychotherapy client if I book hypnotherapy?
No. Booking a stand-alone hypnotherapy session does not establish an ongoing psychotherapy relationship with Arkehra Therapy. Clinical hypnotherapy is offered as a separate service unless you are already receiving psychotherapy with me.
Do you use hypnotherapy with your therapy clients?
Yes. I may incorporate clinical hypnotherapy into ongoing psychotherapy when it is clinically appropriate, aligns with the client's treatment goals, and the client is interested and comfortable with using it.
Hypnotherapy is never required and is only incorporated collaboratively.
Is your approach trauma-informed?
Yes. My approach to clinical hypnotherapy is trauma-informed. This means the process emphasizes choice, collaboration, emotional safety, pacing, and maintaining your sense of control throughout the experience.
I do not believe that healing requires forcing yourself through an experience before you feel ready. We work at a pace that respects your nervous system, your boundaries, and your individual needs.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. Hypnosis is not mind control, and you are not unconscious. You remain aware and able to speak, move, open your eyes, or stop the process at any time.
What if I don’t feel like hypnosis worked for me?
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention, and everyone experiences it differently. You do not need to feel deeply “tranced” or have a dramatic experience for hypnotherapy to be beneficial. Some people notice changes after one session, while others may benefit from additional sessions depending on their goals, concerns, and responsiveness to the process.
Because your appointment time and the service are provided regardless of your individual response or outcome, hypnotherapy sessions are non-refundable once completed.
All integrative hypnotherapy sessions require a brief 15–30 minute consultation and completion of a pre-session questionnaire. This helps determine whether hypnotherapy is an appropriate fit for your goals, identify any concerns that may require a different level of care, and gather information that allows your session to be thoughtfully personalized to your needs, preferences, and desired outcomes.
