about me

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am a San Diego native and first-generation Latina. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and my master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am currently licensed in California and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology.

My background

I started my journey working in mental health as a volunteer for a woman’s shelter providing crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Growing up in a home witnessing and experiencing violence, I felt connected to this work and felt a desire to help. I volunteered for 4 years and received the Volunteer of the Year Award, which highlighted a perfect balance of my lived experience and natural skill set. My volunteering experience led me to pursue higher education in mental health and launched a genuine desire for understanding the impacts of trauma.

My experience

I have over a decade in experience providing a combination of services including emergency crisis response, advocacy, clinical case management, and individual therapy to survivors of trauma. I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse, and stalking. In more recent years, I have worked with college students navigating stressful life transitions and military service members battling suicidal ideation. I have worked with psychiatric emergency response teams pairing alongside law enforcement to assess and ensure safety to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. Holding space for individuals experiencing the hardest and most painful moments of their lives is an honor and a privilege that I handle with great respect and high regard. I approach this work with deep passion and integrity.

Dear You,

I know that choosing a therapist can be hard and you deserve to find the right fit for you. Please note that I respect you for taking the time to be here reading through profiles. I believe healing creates a ripple effect. When one person commits to their growth, it positively impacts their relationships, their community, and the systems around them.

So, human to human, I thank you for considering taking this hero’s journey. It’s about so much more than symptom relief or personal gain, it’s a courageous step toward generational change and collective healing. Sometimes our greatest breakthroughs are right on the other side of our greatest pain, so keep going! If our paths do not cross again, I hope you find the peace your soul aches for! Much love and light to you on your journey forward!
